The Colorado Springs Osteopathic Foundation underwrites a sizeable portion of the expenses for Centennial Health, our medical clinic, which is devoted primarily to the treatment of patients who have Medicare and Tricare (retired military personnel) insurance.

The number of primary care providers who serve this population is diminishing everyday, while the number of patients is increasing significantly, as the baby boomer generation reaches retirement age. Our physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses deal with chronic care for those approaching retirement and for the frail elderly. And, as a research-based organization, we continue to track evidence-based methods and outcomes, and share our findings through our Continuing Medical Education programs and publications.

In June of 2007, our Foundation Centennial Health dedicated a new facility for the medical clinic and foundation offices. We have been able to double our medical services staff; and we have, as has been our practice since the establishment of both entities, refined our programs and services to conform to the most needed patient base in our community, the frail elderly and our retired military personnel. There are still a few naming opportunities in our new state of the art building that can be used by the donor as an opportunity to honor or to memorialize a family or an individual. A Naming Gift serves as a tribute to a special person(s) in perpetuity.

The primary question is who will “care for those who cared for us” and who will provide primary care for us when we are eligible for Medicare and/or Tricare? Centennial Health is in a unique position to address these issues and help our community find solutions!
Your support and the community’s support are mandatory if we are to succeed.
